About Catherine

I first had counselling myself when I was in my 30’s, while I was working in a corporate career. It really helped and inspired me to retrain as a counsellor and psychotherapist; I gained a Diploma in Integrative Psychodynamic Counselling and then an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy from the internationally reputed training centre for psychotherapists, Metanoia Institute, in London.

I draw on theories from across the many schools of psychotherapy about human development and relational needs, as well as the impact of change, and feeling different, on our sense of self.   If you’d like to know more, please feel free to discuss this or other questions during an initial session or later.

I also attend professional development workshops and conferences. Topics have included our relationship with food and eating disorders; trauma and the body; LGBT sexuality; adolescents and risk; sibling relationships; infant development; autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

In addition to my private practice, I volunteer for the affordable counselling agency, Riverside Counselling, in Henley on Thames. I have also taught tai chi for mental health in Henley for the voluntary agency, Sport in Mind.
